U2 is bringing its legendary catalog to the NFL this Thanksgiving season.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band will headline the halftime show for the NFL’s first-ever Thanksgiving Eve game, featuring the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday, November 25, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. ET and will stream live on Netflix, with U2’s performance set to be a major attraction during the league’s new holiday football event.
U2 Celebrates 50 Years as a Band
The halftime performance comes during a milestone year for U2, which formed in Dublin, Ireland, in 1976. The band is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2026, making the Thanksgiving Eve appearance another major moment in a career that has spanned five decades.
U2 also has a history with the NFL’s biggest stage. The band headlined the halftime show at Super Bowl XXXVI in February 2002, delivering an emotional performance that honored the victims of the September 11 attacks.
Now, nearly 25 years later, U2 will return to an NFL stadium for another high-profile performance, this time in front of a global audience watching on Netflix.
Netflix Continues Its NFL Halftime Show Tradition
Netflix has made musical performances a significant part of its NFL holiday broadcasts.
Beyoncé headlined the streaming service’s first Christmas Day NFL halftime show in 2024 during the Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans matchup. The performance, known as the Beyoncé Bowl, earned four Emmy nominations.
Snoop Dogg took over halftime duties during last year’s Christmas Day game between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings with Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party, and it was pretty epic!
U2 will continue that trend when the Packers and Rams meet on Thanksgiving Eve. Jesse Collins Entertainment will produce the halftime show.
How to Watch Packers vs. Rams on Thanksgiving Eve
The Packers-Rams matchup marks the first time the NFL has scheduled a game on Thanksgiving Eve, adding another nationally televised event to an already busy holiday football calendar.
The game will be available live on Netflix, with coverage beginning at 6pm ET and kickoff scheduled for 8pm ET. The broadcast will also be available on local NBC-owned stations and affiliates in the participating teams’ markets.
Last year’s Netflix Christmas Day broadcast of the Lions-Vikings game became the most-streamed NFL regular-season game in U.S. history.
With U2 celebrating 50 years together and a new holiday football tradition getting underway, the Packers-Rams matchup will have plenty to offer beyond the action on the field.
