Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed in Concussion Protocol

Redskins tight end Jordan Reed has been placed in the league’s concussion protocol according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Reed suffered the injury on a colossal hit from Falcons safety Keanu Neal in Thursday’s exhibition game. This is the 29-year-old Reed’s seventh reported concussion.

With two weeks to go until Week 1, the oft-injured tight end should be considered questionable bordering on doubtful for Washington’s season opener at Philadelphia. His absence would leave the Redskins extremely thin on receiving weapons. Vernon Davis is next up on the tight end depth chart for the Redskins.
