Todd Gurley’s Trainer Confirms Los Angeles Rams RB Has “Arthritic” Condition in Knee

The trainer for Todd Gurley has confirmed that the star Rams running back is dealing with an “arthritic component to his knee” according to Dave Richard of CBS Sports.

“Everybody knew when Todd came out of Georgia that there would be some kind of arthritic component to his knee,” trainer Travelle Gaines said.

“He’s now at the year-five mark, all we’re doing is managing that. If we can pound him less in the offseason while keeping his weight down, working on his strength, working on his agility in short areas, that’s going to give him a better chance to be healthy Weeks 14 through 17 when they really count.”

Gaines also said he has not been told the Rams plan to limit Gurley’s workload to keep him fresh, although their offseason moves paint a pretty clear picture.

The Rams moved up in the draft to select running back Darrell Henderson in the third round. Henderson flashed big-play ability at Memphis, delivering 2,204 yards from scrimmage (1,909 rushing, 295 receiving) with 25 total touchdowns as a junior in 2018.
