It is hard to believe that we are already heading into week four of the NFL season, but if you look around the league at what is out there in terms of games, there are some excellent matchups for every fan in just about every NFL city.
If you look closely at a lot of the NFL lines this weekend, there’s a ton of freebets you can literally claim today, and that’s due to the fact there’s a number of teams that are coming off big wins in week three and are looking to follow it up with just as big wins this week.
The first bet that bears watching is a late game on Sunday, as the 1-1-1 Cleveland Browns head to Oakland to take on the winless Oakland Raiders, who under new (old) head coach Jon Gruden are 0-3, and the wheels seem to be coming off for ‘Raider Nation’ at a rapid pace.
The Browns will have the first ever start for rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield, who came in last week against the Jets and lead them to a 21-17 win, their first win in over an entire season. The real story is the Browns defense, which has been outstanding for the most part in the first three weeks.
Right now the game has the Raiders at minus three, and you can take the Browns win confidence that they won’t need those three points, as they move to 2-1-1 with an outright win.
The most stunning result last week was the Buffalo Bills going to Minnesota as a 16.5 point underdog and beating the Vikings outright.
This week with rookie Josh Allen back under center, they will look for their second straight upset as they head to Green Bay, where they currently are 10-point underdogs to the Packers.
Buffalo’s defense has come to life with Sean McDermott calling plays, and the offense going going with Allen doing some good things last week. The Pack with Aaron Rodgers and company will win, but the Bills will do enough to compete, so take the Bills plus the 10.
Finally there’s the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles, who head to Tennessee as six-point favorites when they matchup with the Titans.
Carson Wentz was finally back on the field last week, and while he didn’t look 100 percent by any means, he did do enough to help the Eagles get a win, and should do enough again this week to get them to a 3-1 mark.
The Titans are still dealing with key injuries, and while it looks like QB Marcus Mariota is going to play, he’s nowhere near 100 percent, and that’s a major issue for the Titans offense.
They beat the Jags 9-6 last week, and while they are 2-1, I can see them having issues with the Eagles defense, and with Wentz back in the fold, take Philadelphia minus the six points, and they should do enough to cover in the end.
