Now that Alex Smith is heading to KC, the next QB that many will wait for in terms of being available on the market is Seattle backup QB Matt Flynn.

It was last offseason that the free agent Flynn inked a mega deal with the Seahawks, only to be beat out by rookie Russell Wilson, who proved his worth taking the Hawks to the playoffs.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and NFL.com, the Seahawks “priority” is to keep Flynn as Wilson’s backup and the team will entertain offers for Flynn but the team will not just flat out release him.

Teams such as the Cardinals and Browns along with possibly Jacksonville will monitor the Flynn situation closely and may see what the Hawks want for him.
