Schefter: Case Keenum on Track to Start at QB in Week One for the Washington Redskins

Adam Schefter of ESPN says that from the looks of things, the Redskins are leaning towards starting offseason pickup Case Keenum over Dwayne Haskins as the starter for week one.

Redskins backup quarterback Colt McCoy isn’t expected to be ready for several weeks due to complications in his recovery from a broken leg.

Haskins will likely need a strong performance in the third preseason game to receive the start in Week 1. The Redskins will inevitably have to go with Haskins at some point in 2019, however, as Keenum projects as nothing more than a veteran bridge QB while Haskins is the future of the franchise.
