My sources claim the Arizona Cardinals are close to an agreement to make free agent KR/WR Josh Cribbs the newest player in the building. There is irony here, as Josh played QB at Kent State University.

They are also possibly close to a deal for fantastic, versatile special teams LB Lorenzo Alexander, formerly of the Redskins, and they’re going after RB Reggie Bush.

Cribbs has not brought a kickoff back for a score in over 3 seasons. His return average has been 20.4, 25.0 and 27.4 the last three seasons. His punt return average 8.4, 11.4 and 12.0. Impressive, but Big Red could possibly get tailback and kick returner LaRod Stephens-Howling to return for less money than Cribbs. Stephens-Howling averaged 27.2, 23.8 and 22.5 the last three seasons on kick-offs, and much of that can be attributed to his blocking. He also ran for a career-high 4 TDs in limited action as a running back (for a team that rarely got near the red zone).

Hit “Like” if you want Josh Cribbs returning kicks at University of Phoenix Stadium as a member of Big Red!
