Recap Of The NFL London Series 2019

At the end of October, the NFL London Series 2019 came to Great Britain. These four fearsome clashes brought the total number of NFL fixtures played in the UK since 2007 up to 28, and really showed the Brits what NFL is all about. The games also provided invaluable insight into what’s ahead in the playoff race, which could come in very handy for those planning to back a winner on websites like Caesars Casino & Sportsbook. Today, we’re recapping what went down in London Town…

Chicago Bears Vs. Oakland Raiders – October 6

The London series started strong with a serious nail-biter that saw the Oakland Raiders sneak past the Chicago Bears in the last two minutes of play with a diving touchdown from Josh Jacobs. With the Bears starting sluggish, The Raiders enjoyed a strong first half, finishing 17-0 up. However, the Bears came out of hibernation and looked as though they pull it back, with several luckywinsand a momentous play from Khalil Mack – who the Raiders traded to Chicago last off-season. The late surge wasn’t enough for the Bears and the final score on the day was 24-21.

Carolina Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – October 13

Carolina Panthers defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 37-26 in the second fixture of the series at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. There were two stars of the night – Panthers Quarterback, Kyle Allen, who passed for 227 crucial yards with two touchdown passes, and running back, Christian McCaffrey who confirmed his status as a serious threat with two touchdowns – one rushing and one receiving. Although displaying moments of greatness and some seriously impressive passes, on the night Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston’s decision-making was just a touch off. Plus, Tampa turned the ball over seven times.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Los Angeles Rams – October 27

If spectators take anything away from the Bengals vs Rams clash in London, it’s that Rams wide receiver, Cooper Kupp is a force to be reckoned with. The Bengals had no response as Kupp caught seven passes for 220 yards and scored a touchdown to help the Rams defeat the Bengals 24-10. From the whistle, it was immediately apparent to those in the know just how much the Rams have missed Kupp, who spent most of last season injured. This moves the Rams to 5-3, keeping them in the running for the NFC playoff race.

Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars – November 3

In a sensational end to an exciting series, Houston smashed the Jackson Jaguars 26-3 under the floodlights at the iconic Wembley Stadium. This game was the most anticipated of the series as it brought together two of the league’s most exciting quarterbacks, Houston’s Deshaun Watson and Jaguars rookie, Gardener Minshew – who firmly-secured his place in the hearts of Jaguars fans after stepping in to replace Nick Foles and delivering far better than anyone could have expected. A crowd of 84,771 NFL fans watched on as Texas took a half-time lead following a touchdown from tight end, Darren Fells. Victory was sealed in the second half after Minshew was intercepted, allowing DeAndre Hopkins to score the winning touchdown.

The series marks the start of a 10-year deal to stage a minimum of two NFL games per year at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London.
