In 2010, Tracy Porter returned a Peyton Manning interception for a touchdown in Super Bowl XLIV to lock up a New Orleans Saints victory. In 2012, Porter and Manning became teamates with the Denver Broncos. However, Porter’s career in Denver did not last long. After just one season with the team, Porter is an unrestricted free agent. He played in just six games which he fought through a seizure and a concussion that ended his 2012 season.
Porter’s initial seizure happened in the preseason and had symptoms later in the season that were very similar. Porter made just one interception in 2012 that came in week one against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Oakland Raiders have big needs in the secondary, and are reportedly interested in Porter. Within the past couple seasons, the Raiders have lost their top cornerback in Nnamdi Asomugha and their top safety in Michael Huff. Porter played for Raiders’ coach Dennis Allen with the Saints.
However, the Raiders are also interested in other players at the position. It was reported over the weekend that the Raiders are interested in Cowboys unrestricted free agent, Mike Jenkins who started just two games in 2012. Will the Raiders sign both free agents or will they choose from one of the corners? The defense struggled last season finishing 20th in the league against the pass. Therefore, they will be looking for as much help in the secondary as possible.
