After one season, the most overhyped backup QB in the history of Pro Football is back on the market.
The Jets announced early Monday that they have waived QB Tim Tebow after just one season in the Big Apple.
Tebow was told face-to-face by new GM John Idzik and coach Rex Ryan when Tebow arrived for phase two of the Jets’ offseason program.
“We have a great deal of respect for Tim Tebow,” Ryan said. “Unfortunately, things did not work out the way we all had hoped. Tim is an extremely hard worker, evident by the shape he came back in this offseason (losing weight). We wish him the best moving forward.”
Let the rumors start on where the former Broncos QB will land from here. Many have said he will eventually wind up with the Jaguars, but that’s hard to imagine after the amount of times Jacksonville has stated that they are not going to bring him in.
Now that he’s free to any team that puts a bid in for him, it’s anyone’s guess where he will land.
