The Raiders might be bailing on the city of Oakland quicker than anyone would have expected, as reports say the team and owner Mark Davis are chatting with the city of San Francisco about games in San Fran in 2019.
The report says that Oakland is talking with the city about playing home games at the home of the San Francisco Giants, AT&T Park.
“There has been initial interest expressed in exploring the opportunity of the Raiders playing at AT&T Park … many details would need to be figured out,” the MLB team said in a statement.
“The Giants want to do what’s best for Bay Area fans and would be open to the concept just as we hosted Cal Football in 2011 when Memorial Stadium in Berkeley was being renovate.”
The city of Oakland is already suing the Raiders franchise, so it’s not a shock that Davis would love to get his team out of the city as soon as he can.
The teams’ new stadium in Las Vegas, where the team will be moving to full-time, will not be ready until 2020.
