Nnamdi Asomugha Signs With 49ers

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that free agent corner back Nnamdi Asomugha has signed a 1 year deal worth up to $3 million with the San Francisco 49ers.

Back in 2006 with the Oakland Raiders, teams did not realize they shouldn’t throw at him. He put had 1 sack, 8 interceptions returned for 59 yards and a score, and 19 passes defensed that year.

He made the Pro Bowl his last three seasons with Oakland (before getting mega bucks to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles), making him the third Pro Bowler in the Niners secondary (joining SS Donte Whitner and CB Carlos Rogers). FS Kerry Rhodes and FS Quentin Mikell might be able to replace FS Donte Whitner, who’s joined SS Mark Baron as a Tampa Bay Buccaneer.

Hit “Like” if you think Anquan Boldin, Nnamdi Asomugha, and (in emergency and in blow-outs) Colt McCoy are the kind of additions that will help the 49ers defend their crown!
