It’s no secret that Andrew Luck and the Colts offense are off to a slow start, but what is the reason for the Colts struggles? According to Mike Freeman from Bleacher Report, “many players, assistant coaches and front office execs think Luck is hurt.”
Rumors of Luck being hurt further gained credulance when a video of Luck wincing when backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck hit him in the chest appeared online. And recently, as INDYSTAR.com reports, Luck appeared to be on the sidelines more during Wednesday’s practice as Matt Hasselbeck took the bulk of the first team reps. Chuck Pagano also confirmed that Luck has sustained a shoulder injury and will be “day to day.”
So, is this the reason why the Colts offense has struggled? Luck has taken a beating behind leaky Colts offensive line so it would not be surprising if Luck played through injury. The Colts can only hope that Luck’s shoulder heals fast enough. On paper, this team has enough weapons to be one of the leagues most explosive offenses. It will mostly depend on the performance and now health of Luck.
