New York Jets Sit CB Trumaine Johnson Over Apparent “Disciplinary Matter”

The Jets have sat down cornerback Trumaine Johnson, as reports say that he was benched for practice Wednesday due to an apparent “disciplinary matter.”

Jets head coach Todd Bowles did not give details as to what took place to make the team site Johnson, other than that it was “an in-house matter that we’re dealing with.”

He would not comment if it was related to discipline, although he made it clear it wasn’t an excused absence. Johnson was likely also fined.

Johnson did talk to reporters about the matter, and did say that he thinks he’ll be on the field for practice on Thursday and will play in the team’s final game on Sunday.

“Me and the head man talked about it,” he said. “That’s between us.” He wouldn’t say anything further or if it was a disciplinary violation, “me and the head man talked about it. That’s between us.”
