New England Patriots TE Dwayne Allen Out a Few Weeks with Knee Injury

Another Patriots tight end has bit the dust for now, as tight end Dwayne Allen is expected to miss a few weeks with a knee injury.

The good news is that the injury, which took place Sunday in the teams’ loss in Tennessee, will not need surgery.

The injury took place when he collided with teammate Trent Brown on a completion to Josh Gordon in the third quarter of the loss.

Allen continued to try to play, but eventually he had to take himself out of the game. This season he’s played in 10 games, starting six for fellow TE Rob Gronkowski who didn’t play Sunday either.

This season Allen has three catches on four targets for 27 yards and has played 43.4 percent of offensive snaps.
