The Dolphins have released defensive tackle Akeem Spence according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.
It is yet another salary cap move by the clearly rebuilding Dolphins, saving the team $3 million.
Originally a fourth round pick out of Illinois by the Buccaneers in 2013, the 27-year-old Spence was acquired in a trade with the Detroit Lions in May 2018 and started all 16 games for Miami last season. Spence shouldn’t struggle to resurface, though it may be in a part-time role.
