The Dolphins secondary took a hit on Monday night during their 27-14 loss to the Steelers in Pittsburgh, and Tuesday they moved to try and shore up the position.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the team has struck a deal with the Los Angeles Rams for veteran cornerback Aquib Talib, as well as they’ve gotten a 5th round pick as well.
As far as the return back to the Rams, Schefter said simply it would be a ‘future pick.’
Here’s the problem with the deal – Talib is on injured reserve and can’t even play. The cornerback also is 33 years old and hasn’t played all 16 games in any season since entering the league in 2008.
So basically this is nothing more than the Dolphins willing to eat up salary for a player who likely can’t take the field.
It remains to be seen what or if Talib can play, or if he can help the Fins at all in 2019.
