The New York Jets remain without a GM, but the search is picking up steam as today the club will talk with three more men about the job opening.
The club will sit down today with Dolphins assistant GM Brian Gaine, Steelers director of football and business administration Omar Khan and former Bears GM Jerry Angelo.
The Jets will conduct three more interviews tomorrow, according to a source. One of them will be Seahawks vice president of football administration John Idzik, a source said.
Angelo will be the first Jets candidate who has experience as a general manager. The team plans on interviewing two more former general managers tomorrow, but it is not known who they are. CBS Sports reported that Jim Popp, GM of the Montreal Alouettes in the CFL, has been contacted by the Jets and may interview.
ESPN reported the Jets have received permission from the Chargers to interview director of player personnel Jimmy Raye, but then later reported he was not scheduled to interview. It is unclear if Raye just turned the Jets down or if something else happened.
