Jets QB Sam Darnold Cleared for Practice; Will Start Against Cowboys

Jets quarterback Sam Darnold was medically cleared for contact Tuesday morning after missing three games due to an untimely bout with mononucleosis, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.

Adam Gase said on Monday Darnold would start against the Cowboys this week if he was cleared.

“I have a feeling it’s going to be good news,” Darnold told ESPN 98.7FM on Monday about his impending tests. “I thought maybe it would come last week, I but I had to wait it out.”
