Short, simple and sweet.
That was about it when Jets head coach Adam Gase was asked Tuesday about the rumors that star running back Le’Veon Bell was on the trade block.
The story of Bell being available came out early on Tuesday, but no deal was made before the 4pm deadline, meaning that Bell will stay in New York for at least the rest of 2019.
Manish Mehta who covers the Jets for the NY Daily News first broke the story that Bell was available for the right price, but as Gase put it, he knew nothing about it.
Gase’s response was tweeted out by New York Post Jets beat reporter Brian Costello
“When I heard that, that was news to me,” Gase said.
So if you were all in on wanting Bell to stay, you will get your wish for the rest of the season.
