Jets Clear $30 Mil In Cap Space By Cutting Five Players

In an effort to clear significant cap space, the Jets released veterans Calvin Pace, Jason Smith and Eric Smith from the roster. Later on in the day, the team also said good-bye to LB Bart Scott.

TE Josh Baker, who spent the season on injured reserve, was also released.

The move should provide the Jets slightly more than $31 million in salary cap relief. Jason Smith, who came over in the Wayne Hunter trade, accounted for $12 million alone.

Rich Cimini talks about New York parting ways with five players and what this means for Darrelle Revis.
