Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton Feels Ready to Play in Thursday’s Game

T.Y. Hilton feels good enough to play against the Texans on Thursday, Joel Erickson of the Indianapolis Star reports.

The rest is up to the Colts doctors and trainers, and ultimately, to the team’s most important decision-makers, Frank Reich and Chris Ballard.

Hilton has spent three weeks on the sidelines after suffering a calf injury in practice the week of the Pittsburgh game, the longest streak of games he’s had to sit out in his career.

“If I check all the boxes,” Hilton said when asked if he’ll play Thursday, “me, how I feel; the doctors, trainers; and then Frank and Chris have their say.”

Hilton, who has been remarkably durable in his NFL career — up until this season, he’d never missed more than two games in any year — thought the injury was much worse in the moments after he suffered the calf injury during practice prior to the game against Pittsburgh.

“Freak accident,” Hilton said. “Just running, like I normally do, I just ran a route, and it just got me. I thought my season was over. It just scared me.”
