Colts left tackle Anthony Castonzo is an “obvious” candidate for an extension as he enters the final season of his current contract according to Keven Bowen of 107.5 The Fan.
The Colts have a number of contracts coming off the books — Jacoby Brissett, Jack Doyle, Eric Ebron and Jabaal Sheard will enter free agency after 2019—but keeping Castonzo should be a top priority.
Originally the No.22-overall pick in the 2011 draft out of Boston College, Castonzo has manned the blind side in Indy for the past nine seasons.
The 30-year-old left tackle seems keen on staying in Indy, noting an extension would be “great.” “Obviously, any time you can be under contract and feeling good about it, that’s always good,” said Castonzo.
Castonzo is due to earn $6.25 million in base salary in 2019.
