The Packers have waived return specialist Tremon Smith according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.com.
Smith, originally a 2018 sixth-round pick out of Central Arkansas by the Kansas City Chiefs, played the last seven games for the Packers and served as their kick and punt returner over that span.
The 23-year-old returned 13 kickoffs for 303 yards and four punts for a total of zero yards. He averaged 26.8 yards per kickoff return as a rookie for the Chiefs last season.
No word yet on who the Packers have in mind to return punts and kicks in Week 14. The team has had very little success in that area in 2019, as they have used three different returners who have combined to return nine kicks for a total loss of eight yards.
