Free agent defensive tackle Gerald McCoy will pay the Panthers a visit this week, this after chatting with both the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens, but not signing a deal with either.
The Athletic reported that McCoy will pay the Cats a visit today before making his decision on where he will sign for 2019. McCoy left Baltimore after a two-day visit on Wednesday.
Josina Anderson of ESPN reported that the visit with the Ravens was “A+++” per a source, but again with no deal in place he’s going to talk to the Panthers, who now McCoy very well from his time with Tampa Bay.
If the Panthers can land McCoy, it will give them a huge force on the defensive line, as he will team with Kawaan Short to give quarterbacks headaches.
Carolina currently has $9.8 million available in cap space. Cleveland has $32.7 million in cap space, while the Ravens have $13.7 million available.
