It sounds that if you want a free agent cornerback, your going to have to wait awhile longer to try and ink free agent CB Antoine Winfield.
Dan Wiederer of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that the free agent won’t be signing anywhere this week, this despite the Vikings, along with the Redskins being in the mix.
Reports say that Winfield must think he’s worth more than he thinks, as he already has turned down a one-year deal for $5 million.
He was set to earn $7.25 million with the Vikings next season before Minnesota released him in March. The Vikings tried to re-do his deal before the release and has made a strong push to re-sign him after.
Word is that members of the Vikings front office have spoken to Winfield and his rep daily to try and bring him back.
