Falcons Making A Strong Push To Ink FA DE Osi Umenyiora

It sounds like the Falcons could be the winner in the sweepstakes to sign former Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Falcons are making a “strong push” to sign former New York Giant.

Umenyora would likely be the Falcons’ replacement for John Abraham at right defensive end. He is 3 years younger than Abraham. The team is trying to get the deal done “before the end of the weekend”.

It looks like several teams are playing musical chairs at the defensive end position. With Osi likely to end up in Atlanta, Abraham may go to New England, Elvis Dumervil may go from Denver to Baltimore, and Dwight Freeney may replace Dumervil in Denver.
