New head coach Chip Kelly really has everyone guessing in Philadelphia.
Coming off the end of OTAs, the quarterback position is “probably the most fluid positional battle on the roster” according to Geoff Mosher of CSN Philly.
In a projected depth chart, Mosher lists “Nick Foles/Mike Vick” as the starter and “Mike Vick/Nick Foles” as the backup with the rookie from USC Matt Barkley peering over both their shoulders.
Part of the problem is that no one is sure what kind of offense Kelly is really planning to run with the Eagles. Kelly vows that the offense he chooses will play to his signal caller’s strengths but how can he choose when he doesn’t know which signal caller to choose.
Vick and Foles are polar opposites in style but many beat writers in Philly insist Foles has a realistic chance to be the chosen one despite not looking like a good fit for Kelly’s previous offense at the University of Oregon.
