Dolphins Issue Statement Regarding Wallace Tweet About Jason Collins

In the wake of the twitter comment that new WR Mike Wallace made earlier on Monday about the coming out NBA player Jason Collins to being gay, the team issued a statement in response to the remarks.

“Mike Wallace has apologized for his comments, and we have addressed the matter with him. Mike’s comments do not reflect the views of the Miami Dolphins. We believe in a culture of inclusiveness and respect, and any statements to the contrary are in no way acceptable to our organization. We will address the entire team about our policy of inclusion and make sure they all understand the importance of respecting individual choices.”

Wallace took a lot of heat after posting the following twitter comment, then deleting it.

  1. Looks like he’s not allowed the right to speak freely about how he feels. he didn’t even say it disrespectfully. Why would you want to stick your dick in poo when you could put it in what it’s actually meant for?

  2. Looks like free speech only exists for select groups. Gays, Muslims, hate Groups can publicly say what they want and they are protected by the amendment but the second a person speaks what they feel is truth against ‘the lifestyle’ they are suddenly blackballed. More power to his courage for saying who he is and how he feels just let us all do it.
