A long streak of starts will come to a close Sunday for Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the quarterback will be inactive for Sunday’s game in Chicago.
Stafford is expected to be inactive for the game due to back and hip injuries.
With Stafford on the bench, the Lions will go with backup Jeff Driskel as the starter at quarterback. Driskel is a former 49ers draft pick who the Lions inked in mid-September.
The streak for Stafford stands at 136, but today that should come to an end. It’s not known when he suffered the injury that will keep him out of the NFC North battle.
Stafford had an MRI on Friday, and the report said that he would not be cleared to play.
The Lions come into Sunday’s battle with the Bears at 3-4-1.
