Osi Umenyiora’s career as a Giant is almost officially over, Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Daily News reports.
One of the finest pass-rushers in Giants history is set to sign with the Atlanta Falcons, according to ProFootballTalk.com.
Umenyiora could sign the deal as soon as Sunday, according to the report. Terms for the deal were not immediately available.
If all goes according to play, the move will bring a predictable end to Umenyiora’s contentious 10-year career in East Rutherford.
Umenyiora voiced his dissatisfaction with his contract often over the last few seasons, and while he never ruled out a return to the Giants, he always planned to test the free agent market after the 2012 season.
