Cowboys right guard Zack Martin will undergo and MRI on his injured back according to Jon Machota of The Athletic, and the team says he will miss a couple of days of action.
This explains why Martin was not present for the team’s walkthrough on Friday. Head coach Jason Garrett downplayed the seriousness of the injury, claiming the decision to go for an MRI was merely a precaution.
“He’s moving around fine, but the [athletic trainers] just want to look into it,” said Garrett.
Xavier Su’a-Filo worked as the starting right guard in Martin’s absence Friday but any prolonged absence by one of the best guards in the NFL would be bad news for the Cowboys O-line.
