Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith is expected to suit up for the team’s critical NFC East showdown against the Washington Redskins on Thanksgiving Day according to Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News.
Smith suffered a neck stinger on the final game-winning drive against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday and has also been dealing with back spasms.
But neither Smith nor owner/GM Jerry Jones have expressed any concern about Smith’s availability for Thursday. Trailing the Redskins by one game in the division standings and with the Redskins reeling from losing their starting QB Alex Smith to a career-threatening leg injury, the Cowboys are in prime position to steal the division and return to the playoffs despite a season full of mediocre play and dysfunction.
They need their stud left tackle on the field to do it.
