One of the breakout stars of the Cowboys season has already gone under the knife less than a week into the offseason, David Moore of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Defensive tackle Antwaun Woods had surgery on Thursday to repair a torn labrum. Woods suffered the injury in the Cowboys’ loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC divisional round.
“Whole season of bully ball got me like…,” Woods said in an Instagram post ahead of his surgery. “Pray for ya boy.”
After entering training camp as the fourth-team nose tackle, Woods quickly worked his way up the depth chart. By the time the team headed back to Dallas, the player added via free agency in May was working with the starters.
Woods finished the regular season with 34 tackles, one and a half sacks and nine quarterback pressures in 15 starts.
