Some observers around the NFL think the Bills could trade or cut veteran running back LeSean McCoy according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated.
The Bills signed veterans Frank Gore and T.J. Yeldon as free agents this offseason and also seem high on rookie Devin Singletary, who they drafted in the third round out of Florida Atlantic. There may simply be no room left for McCoy. McCoy also has the highest salary by far of the group-he is scheduled to make $6.175 million in the final year of his current deal-and the Bills could save a lot of money by releasing him.
Factor in the fact that 2018 was the worst year of the 31-year-old’s stellar career with only 514 yards rushing, four touchdowns, and a paltry 3.2 yards per carry in 14 games. Bills general manager Billy Beane recently gave McCoy a vote of confidence but things can change very quickly in the NFL.
