The Browns have their first big name candidate coming to town to talk about the vacant head coaching position, as the club will chat with former Packers coach Mike McCarthy on Thursday.
The 56-year-old did not coach in the league in 2019 after being fired mid-season in 2018 by the Packers. The Giants will also speak to McCarthy this weekend about their opening.
Cleveland.com reports that if the Browns can land McCarthy, it may also open the door for a General Manager to come aboard, that being current Browns assistant general manager Eliot Wolf.
Wolf and McCarthy spent 12 years together coaching in Green Bay.
The overall record for McCarthy is impressive, as he won 10 of 18 playoff games including Super Bowl XLV over the Steelers in Dallas.
With the Packers McCarthy went 125-77-2 in the regular season.
