Can Any of These NFL Last Place Teams from 2018 Make the Jump to the Playoffs in 2019?

Eight teams finished at the bottom of their divisions last season in the NFL. If you check DailyStoke, you will see which teams were the very worst, and today we see if any of those teams can make a jump to the postseason in 2019.

New York Jets (4-12) – The team has a new coach (Adam Gase) and a new stud running back in Le’Veon Bell, but they are young and need their defense to step up. Look for 7-8 wins, but it won’t be enough to be postseason bound for the Jets in 2019.

Cincinnati Bengals (6-10) – Another team with a new coach in Zac Taylor, who comes from the Rams and should energize this team’s offense. Look for Andy Dalton to try and prove that he can still compete, problem is the defense is not all that good, and the run game with Joe Mixon needs to be a lot better.

Jacksonville Jaguars (5-11) – Nick Foles gets the chance to shine as the team’s new QB, and they need to put away the bad feelings of last year and play more like the team of 2017 that got to the AFC Title Game. Look for a bounce back season, one that wins then 8-9 games and they could be playoff bound again.

Oakland Raiders (4-12) – A LOT of changes and the Raiders offense should be high-powered with Antonio Brown catching passes from Derek Carr. The defense has to be better if they are going to compete, and the AFC West is a tough ground to try and get better. I see 5-6 wins.

New York Giants (5-11) – Will Daniel Jones get the chances to start in 2019? He’s shown off his skills in OTA’s, and that’s the biggest question about the Giants in 2019. Other than that, they are going to be tough to watch, they actually might not win five games.

Detroit Lions (6-10) – Matt Patrica could be on the hot seat with this team before too long, they are not good enough on offense to hang with the likes of the Bears and Packers, and their defense gives up too many huge plays. I see 4-5 wins and another high draft pick.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-11) – An interesting team with some changes that should make them better. Look for Jamies Winston to bounce back, and their defense could have an interesting look to it. They are a year away, but look for them to be in the race for a wild card spot deep into December.

Arizona Cardinals (3-13) – Kyler Murray is going to get a chance ASAP to be the man under center, and he’s going to have his share of growing pains with a team that doens’t have a ton else to offer. A healthy David Johnson can help, but that’s not enough to put them at more than 4-5 wins.
