Johnny Football is back! Well, for one game that is.
With Josh McCown reportedly battling a painful rib injury, NFL Media’s Rand Getlin reported Tuesday that Cleveland is preparing to start Johnny Manziel for Thursday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Manziel faces a tall task in preparing for only 2 days against the undefeated Bengals. Still, at least he has seen snaps this season, including one start in which he defeated the Titans 28-14. This experience should help him in his rather short preparation against the Bengals.
Manziel played well in his only start against the Titans, and Thursday is a perfect opportunity to build on his solid week 2 performance. The pressure is on Manziel to perform, especially since other year 2 quarterbacks such as Black Bortles, Teddy Bridgewater, and Derek Carr have been thriving while Manziel has mostly sat on the bench this season.
