The Cleveland Browns have made their first free agency signing of the 2013 offseason. Former Ravens’ linebacker, Paul Kruger, has agreed to terms with the Cleveland Browns. The deal was worth 5 years and $60 million.

This will be a key addition to the Browns’ roster because of Kruger’s pass rushing ability. Kruger’s pressure skills have continued to get better over the past two years. He racked up five and a half sacks in 2011 and 9 in 2012.

The Browns are switching to a 3-4 scheme defesively, and added Kruger (a 3-4 outside linebacker), as their first peice to the defense. The Browns’ leading pass rusher, Jabaal Sheard, finished with just seven sacks in 2012. Kruger will give the defense a solid rusher off the side and is a good role player for years to come.
