In a move that some would not be all that shocked at, the Broncos have cut ties with RB Willis McGahee.
The back skipped voluntary organized team activities, to fulfill what he would only describe as “family obligations.”
McGahee did show up Tuesday for the first of a three-day mandatory minicamp, but didn’t make excuses for missing the OTA’s. “I didn’t choose not to come. I had reasons. Family reasons,” McGahee said.
Second-year player Ronnie Hillman and rookie second-round pick Montee Ball took the bulk of the work with the first-team offense. McGahee took only a couple of snaps during team drills in the two-hour practice, he said.
Broncos announce they've released Willis McGahee.
