With the Super Bowl nine days away, the Niners can officially put the sexual assault allegations regarding WR Michael Crabtree behind them.
The San Francisco District Attorney has announced that no charges are coming Crabtree’s way. The wide out was being accused of sexual assault following the Niners divisional round win over the Packers.
“The San Francisco Police Department-Special Victims Unit completed and submitted a thorough investigation of the allegations against Michael Crabtree,” San Francisco District Attorney George Gascon said in a statement, via CSNBayArea.com. “Following a review of all the evidence, my office has determined that no charges will be filed against Michael Crabtree at this time.”
The Niners have also released a statement regarding the Crabtree situation.
“We are pleased to learn of the San Francisco District Attorney’s announcement following a thorough review of the matter,” G.M. Trent Baalke said in a statement released by the team. “Michael and the team can now put this behind us and move forward.”
Crabtree did play in last Sunday’s NFC Title Game vs the Falcons, and was and will still prepare with the team for next Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVII.
