It appears that finally the Vikings have a new defensive coordinator. Reports are the team is going to hire Colts defensive backs coach Alan Williams to lead the defense.
The hiring comes after the team removed Fred Pagac as defensive coordinator last week and offered him a position as linebackers coach
Williams wasn’t the only coach that interviewed for the job, as the Vikings also spoke to Raheem Morris and Mel Tucker for the job, and the Bears denied the Vikings permission to interview their secondary coach Jon Hoke for the job.
Williams knows the Cover-2 scheme that Vikings coach Leslie Frazier wants to implement, as he worked for Tony Dungy in Tampa Bay.
