The Vikings were encouraged by the results of running back Adrian Peterson’s surgery today to repair torn anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments, coach Leslie Frazier said in a statement.
“We’ve received word that Adrian underwent successful knee surgery with Dr. James Andrews and is now resting comfortably,” Frazier said. “Adrian is in our thoughts, we wish him a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him when he returns to Minnesota.”
Peterson underwent the procedure in Birmingham, Alabama, six days after absorbing a hit from Washington Redskins safety DeJon Gomes in the third quarter of the Vikings’ 33-26 win.
