When Olindo Mare bolted for greener pastures with a four year, $12 million deal the Seahawks found themselves in need of a new kicker.
The Seahawks have re-signed former training camp body Brandon Coutu to compete for Olindo Mare’s former job.
It seems when not going after Sidney Rice’s, Pete Carroll is opting for the bottom of the barrel cough Jackson cough. David Akers and Ryan Longwell were far superior options.

When Brandon Coutu competed against Olindo Mare in training camp and preseason, they were neck and neck. The only thing that seperated them was Olindo had better kickoff distance. Brandon was just as accurate kicking field goals.
Akers, Longwell>> Coutu, Bynum.
