Now the #1 player left on the free agent market, the NFL world has been waiting all day for the decision of former Raiders All-Pro CB Nnamdi Asomugha to where he will play in 2011.
It looks like, unless there’s a surprise team in the mix, that decision has been made.
Moments ago Tweets from a number of sources broke the story that the New York Jets, reportedly the front runner for most of the day for Asomugha, have pulled out of the running for his services, leaving just the Dallas Cowboys as the lone suitor.
It was just Wednesday that Stephen Jones said that Terence Newman and Mike Jenkins would be the Cowboys’ starting cornerbacks this season, essentially eliminating the Cowboys from the Asomugha sweepstakes. Jason Garrett said Friday that the Cowboys “feel great” about their cornerbacks’ corps.
Now that seems like it was just a smoke screen, as unless there’s a shocking change of mid, Asomugha will be wearing a star on his helmet in 2011 and beyond.

Once they announced the Jets were no longer in the running for Nnamdi, they said the Cowboys were out too!
What a move by the Eagles!
