Plaxico Burress is coming home, yet, where exactly is home for Plax?
Both team and league sources have told ESPN’s Chris Mortensen that it appears likely that Burress will be playing for one of his two former clubs.
“Sources believe only a productive, fence-mending meeting between Burress and Coughlin stands between the wide receiver rejoining the Giants and making more than $10 million over two years,” Mortensen reported.
With that said, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin could make a powerful sell to Burress to return to the Steelers, who made him the eighth overall pick out of Michigan State in 2000, sources noted.
If I were a betting man, I would ultimately base my choice on which hurdle is the easiest to jump: Giants – fiery Tom Coughlin; Steelers – Mike Wallace dons the #17 he sported in the Big Apple.
After thorough research and pondering, I concur that the rift-raft between coach Cough is a more daunting hurdle to jump than a number controversy, if there is one at all.
Therefore, he is more likely to reappear in Black and Yellow, than he is in “The City So Nice, They Named It Twice.” Unfortunately, for Giants faithful, Plax won’t be revisiting it twice as a member of the G-Men.
