The Seattle Seahawks are set to have a new General Manager, as a person familiar with the deal says the Hawks are going with Packers executive John Schneider as their new general manager. The person spoke to The Associated Press on Tuesday on condition of anonymity because the team had yet to officially announce the hire. ESPN first reported the deal.
Schneider was one of four candidates the Seahawks interviewed last week. He will share personnel responsibilities with new coach Pete Carroll. Schneider replaces Tim Ruskell. The Seahawks forced Ruskell to resign last month after Seattle finished 5-11, losing its last four games.
