One would think that the Houston Texans, with the duo of running backs Steve Slaton and Larry Johnson, would be in good hands (pun semi-unintended) despite the propensity for turning over the ball. Apparently, team head coach Gary Kubiak doesn’t seem to think so as they are interested in signing former Kansas City Chiefs RB Larry Johnson.

According to Kubiak:

“We’re going to do our homework on him just like we did our homework on Edgerrin James last week. Obviously, I think when a name like that (Johnson) comes on the free-agent market like today, we’ll take a look at him just like any other player. He’s been a good player in this league, and I’m sure he’ll get a lot of interest from a lot of people.”

With the lack of productivity at the RB position along with the fumbling issue, Houston is looking for any worthwhile running back who can hopefully be an upgrade; they should keep in mind of the extra baggage that Johnson would bring to the team as part of the bargain.

Larry Johnson: Chiefs’ losing led to his bad behavior

    Wahhhhhhh! It’s somebody else’s fault! Yeah, I think it’s my teammates fault I’m a selfish, childish D I C K.

Here’s a thought: now that he’s a free agent, don’t pick him up. That should help more than anger management. What a yutz.

LJ has been a headcase on the team since he came into the league. He has also proven to be personally foul, assaulting women, talking down teamates and now add homophobia to the list.

I’m a Chiefs and Niners fan so I am only glad that the Niners aren’t in the market for a running back. On the other hand that would be hilarious seeing him play in SF after the gay slurs. Hey maybe the Raiders will take him…they will take anybody and I LOVE seeing them lose.
