Del Rio Better Start Winning More in Jacksonville
Posted by Matt Loede under Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jags are a very much up and down team, but still seem to be far away from being the playoff team they were two seasons ago when they beat the Steelers in the wild card game on the road and then gave a pretty good fight to the Pats.
Now, Jack Del Rio appears to be feeling some heat, as the team continues to try and get back to where they were. Sunday they were destroyed by a Seahawks team that hadn’t been playing very well, and the Florida Times-Union says that Del Rio had better start winning:
It’s time for Jack Del Rio to give this team an identity beyond its raging inconsistency. Since he signed a $20 million-plus contract extension in April, 2008, the Jaguars are 7-14, and the timing of this disastrous weekend only raises doubts about the team’s direction. Was it an aberration or a continuation of this team’s roller-coaster pattern? “I believe in what we’re doing,” Del Rio said. “I will continue to coach my butt off, to work my staff, to prepare this football team, and expect us to play well. When the water gets rough, I will keep my hand firm on the rudder. We will come through it.”
If he and the team continue to lose that seats continue to go unfilled in Jacksonville, the team may have no choice but to have a coaching change at the end of the year – or sooner.
