
The New York Daily news is reporting this morning that the San Francisco 49ers will be filing tampering charges against the New York Jets in regards to wide receiver Michael Crabtree. This comes a day after each team picked up big wins against divisional opponents.
The Daily News is reporting that league sources have are alleging that Jets GM Mike Tannenbaumhas been in contact with Crabtree’s agent, Eugene Parker, to work out a 2010 draft scenario that would land Crabtree in the Big Apple next off-season. Michael Crabtree will be eligible to re-enter the draft next year if he is able to sit out this entire NFL season. The Daily News also alleges that Tannenbaum may have gone as far toeven offer monetary incentives to land the former Texas Tech standout.
These allegations come amidst a turmoil situation created by former quarterback Brett Favre who reported that the Jets management and coaching staff failed to properly report significant injuries to league officials.
